About ValleyGirl96

I moved into the Valley in 1996.  This isn’t the Valley you’re thinking of, the one from the 80’s that spawned all that terrible “gag me with a spoon” slang jargon.  Not that I didn’t love using those nasaly, whiny responses on my mom as a teenager; I did.

The Valley where I live is a small town in the Southern part of Northeastern Ohio.  It’s where my husband, The Doc, grew up and his parents before him, and so on.  There are a lot of families around here like that.  After growing up in a suburb outside of Detroit, my move to the Valley was a bit of a culture shock, but as The Doc promised, it’s been an amazing place to live and raise our family.

I teach here in the Valley at the high school my kids attend.  Being an outsider (even after all these years) I’ve got an interesting perspective on this place.  I hope you enjoy!

Good luck on your new blog. Always nice to find a fellow Ohioan blogger. 🙂

Thanks for stopping by my site. I appreciate it!

  2. Thanks for the comment on Hair. When I was 13 I tried Curl Free- remember that product? Well of course it didn’t work but it spawned my interest in consumer protection. I wrote to the company asking for a refund and received $5 back- what I paid! Do you keep two blogs? And write daily? And teach? Awesome!

You go! I completely believe in consumer activism. I actually only keep one blog – and teach – and parent – and clean house – and…. you know, the same stuff most of us superwomen do! Thanks for visiting my blog!

I have nominated you for an Addictive Blog award. At the risk of making you feel like heroin, check it out at http://peachyteachy.wordpress.com/2012/10/02/my-addictive-blog-or-dream-on-sister/

    Valley Girl 96,
    You’re from Ohio. How lovely.
I visited Cleveland one day, and loved it. I shit you not.
    Do you know Matt Berninger?

Thanks for the visit – both to my blog and Ohio. You’re the first person who has ever admitted to visiting Cleveland AND liking it (I’m pretty sure). You really are twisted.

As for Matt, I think he was the guy I stood behind in line for the Top Thrill Dragster at Cedarpoint that one time. He kept talking about some crazy band he supposedly fronted for. So, yeah. I know him.

PS: I had a genuinely good time in Cleveland. In some ways, it reminded me of my hometown Montreal.
